Past Events

Below are a few examples of events that the ALA has done in addition to weekly meetings sense 2003.

*March 2006: Brought Jack Rinella to campus for "A History of Kinky Sex"

*4/22/06: Brought Jack McGeorge to speak about UN Weapons Inspections in the Middle East and to discuss the difficult topic of being "out".

*9/24/06: Screened Eddie Izzard's "Dress To Kill" at Ursa's

*10/12/06: SafeZones Training

Sex Week 2007: The events put on during SHAC's "Sex Week" by the ALA and other non-SHAC groups were dubbed "Beyond Sex" and focused on the important topics we felt SHAC was missing. The Beyond Sex website can still be found here: http://altlife.wustl.edu/beyondsex.

*2/12/07: The ALA teamed up with Pride and brought David Jay and Shelly Protte from AVEN (Asexuaility Visibility and Education Network),

*2/13/07: screened "Vice & Consent" followed by a discussion.

*2/15/07: hosted a "You, Sex and the Law" Panel discussion.

*2/16/07: put on a Vendor Fair & Fetish Fashion Show called Kinky Kouture.

*2/17/07: brought Jack Rinella to present on "Creating Spaces for Good Sex"

*2/17/07: hosted "Blow Jobs: A Discussion" lead by Jack Rinella

*Sex Week 2009: Thanks to great communication efforts by SHAC Sex Week 2009 was a well integrated, informative and exciting week for WashU!

*2/10/09: Academic Symposium on Porn

*2/10/09: "My Life As A Feminist Porn Activist" by Annie Sprinkle

*2/11/09: Sidewalk Sex Clinic

*2/11/09: Screening of "Anne Sprinkle's Amazing World of Orgasm"
