We are a Student Union recognized group at Washington University in St. Louis dedicated to bringing resources to the Washington University campus and the St. Louis community in an effort to promote healthy attitudes towards sex and sexuality. We are open to all races, religions, genders, sexual orientations and kinks. We encourage members to communicate and learn from one another and ask that participants set aside assumptions about who people are and what they do.

Though we are a student group we provide various resources for Wash U undergraduates, graduate students, faculty members, employees, students of other Universities and the St. Louis community. We offer resources in the form of discussion groups, hands on work shops, lending libraries and community outreach events such as bringing speakers to campus, panel discussions, fetish fashion shows, vendor fairs, and submitting articles and survey results to StudLife- Wash U's student newspaper.

*Please Note: We have new policies for utilizing our resources*
Weekly Meetings & Workshops may be attended by students (graduate and undergraduate), faculty and staff of Washington University ONLY.

Speakers & Panel Discussions are generally open to the public though restrictions on attendance may vary depending on the location of each event. Please read the details for each event and e-mail us at Info@WashUAltLife.org if you have any questions.

Community Outreach & Major Events are open to the community and we welcome anyone who would like to attend regardless of age or school affiliation

The Alternative Lifestyle Association was founded in 2004 by a few students who made this group possible through a great deal of work and with a wonderful vision which has made gradual changes over the years into the still ever-changing group that it is today. The ALA is now proud to have the support of Student Union. Thanks to the support we receive from our school and the St. Louis community we are able to do two big community outreach events each year- to learn about past events and ideas for future events please visit our "News & Events" page.
